There's Nothing Better than a Good Italian Dinner

I live and work in Denver, but the mothership for my company is back in Long Island. In the past few years visiting I've been taken to a nice Italian restaurant there called Cirella's many times and its now become a place I have to visit every time I come to New York.

First of all, there's something different about getting italian in New York. Denver has a few good restaurants (notably Carmines), but for some reason its just better in NY. Every single dish on the menu is good, hearty, and just hits the spot. The decor is simple, the service is well above average, but it all comes down to the food. My order tonight was the Pollo Cirella and a bottle of Toscolo chianti to share with my friends. My wife is not much for chianti, but I absolutely love a good chianti (no fava beans though...). All of it added up to me sitting back in my hotel room with that wonderfully warm, sedated, and content feeling that starts in my stomach but spreads throughout my chest that only a good italian meal can provide.

Growing up I never really understood what the big deal was about a good spaghetti or chicken parmesan, and even in adulthood italian was pasta or pizza. But after Cirella's, italian has a whole new meaning to me (and my tummy).
