Worst Person Ever at Keeping In-Touch
I am absolutely the worst at keeping in touch with friends/ family/ colleagues, just about anyone. I went to a conference in July and still haven't written the great people I met there. One of my best friends lives 20 miles from me, and I haven't talked to him in months, another best friend constantly writes and I respond to every third or fifth one. I'm just no damn good at keeping up!
And now the holidays are upon us, and my wife is picking up the slack because I don't think I've ever sent out a Christmas card in my life. Is there a 12-step program for this? Can I be cured? Or am I forever to be the asshole who never called/ wrote you back?
Good thing New Years is around the corner, maybe I'll just add this to my list.
Dear Webgeek,
Per your request for a 12-step program for those afflicted with IKIT syndrome (Incapable of Keeping In Touch) there are no such groups available at this time. But there is hope! 123greetings.com provides a crutch for people like yourself. At 123greetings.com you have the capacity to remember your loved ones such as family and "friends" by automated greetings. You can keep up to 15 address's in your little address book, and when you choose an e-card ie: BIRTHDAY, or HOLIDAY, personalize the card and then preview and send . . there is a button that says "open calendar" You can actually click on the calendar icon, choose a date and voila . . your hard to remember birthday greetings, holiday wishes, and special occasion . . (anniversaries) are remembered for you. In one evening you can have all your cards sent for the year and bring happiness and joy to those who never hear from you. ((insert smile here))
And what is even better . . this is a free service.
May this aid you in your battle with ikit syndrome. Happy Holidays.
